What is the process?

After you book your appointment, here is what to expect. You will have 2 to 4 fittings depending on your dress type. At your first fitting be sure to bring your shoes to mark the hem. You will be pinned with the dress on, given an estimate, and then book your next fitting or pick up date. A deposit of 50% will be required to start the work on your dress. Cash or check payments are preferred; however, we do accept credit cards.

How much do alterations cost?

This is the most commonly asked question, yet cannot be answered until you are fitted in-person. Every dress is different and prices vary depending on the dress, fabric, and work that needs to be done. If you would like to set up a consultation, please be sure to mention that in the notes section when requesting an appointment.

How much time do I need?

For bridal gowns, we recommend booking your first fitting 3 months prior to the event date. For bridesmaids, mother of, and other special occasions we advise scheduling 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Please note, a rush fee will apply to bridal gowns with less than 8 weeks notice and all other gowns under 2 weeks notice.

What should I bring to my fitting?

Great question! For your first fitting be sure to bring your dress, shoes, and any undergarments you plan to wear. Tennar Alterations provides cups that can replace the forms already in your dress as well as bra recommendations if needed. Please note, your hem will not be marked without your shoes. The slightest change in height can make a huge difference. A change in shoes after the hem is already completed will result in an additional charge to re-hem the gown.
